Freight Volume of China-Vietnam Trains Departing from Guangxi Increased 16-Fold YoY in the First Seven Months of 2024

Nanning, August 15 (Reported by Li Qin, Mo Yujie and Dong Lige) - In the first seven months of this year, the cumulative freight volume of China-Vietnam trains departing from Guangxi reached 6,850 TEUs, a YoY increase of 16 times. In July alone, 1,922 TEUs were shipped, exceeding the total volume of the first quarter of this year. This marked the third time this year that the monthly shipment record was broken, adding strong momentum to the promotion of economic and trade exchanges between China and Vietnam.

Currently, the scheduled transportation time for China-Vietnam trains from Nanningnan Railway Station to Yên Viên Railway Station in Vietnam is only 14 hours, offering fast, safe and stable transportation. Recently, CR-Nanning has leveraged the advantages of Nanning International Railway Port as a comprehensive logistics hub, increased efforts in freight organization, and actively coordinated with the commerce departments of Nanning, Liuzhou, Guilin and Guigang to understand the transportation needs of local foreign trade enterprises. This led to the successful adoption of the China-Vietnam fast customs clearance trains for the shipment of Nanning's paper products. Additionally, they tailored transportation plans for enterprises, deployed ample 40-foot, 35-ton wide-body containers, and ensured their fixed cycle use between Nanningnan Railway Station and Pingxiang Railway Station to meet the transportation needs of timber, chemicals and food products.

CR-Nanning continues to expand the China-Vietnam train transportation market, tapping into trade goods from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area destined for Vietnam. They organized the launch of a "railway + railway" through train from Guangzhou to Nanning and then to Vietnam, successfully transporting goods like cardboard boxes and computer accessories from Guangzhou to Vietnam. Furthermore, they coordinated with Nanning Customs and Yongzhou Customs to optimize the rail-road intermodal transportation model of mixed cargo from Guangzhou to Nanning and then to Vietnam. This involved adjusting and optimizing the customs clearance and shipment of electromechanical products, plastic products, clothing and furniture from Guangzhou to Vietnam at Nanning. In July, they organized the trial shipment of seven containers of mixed cargo, paving a new, efficient cross-border logistics channel for goods exported from the Greater Bay Area to Vietnam.

To meet the growing demand for transportation, Nanning Railway Logistics Center proactively coordinated with customers to understand their transportation plans. They optimized cargo loading plans based on actual customer needs, and in the processes of container selection, loading and dispatching, they established a green channel for cross-border cargo transportation to ensure the timely and safe operation of the trains.
