As China's foreign trade continues to grow, the demand for cross-border freight transportation has surged. The Xinjiang Railway authority seized the opportunity by accelerating the construction of a modern logistics system and continuously improving the capacity for CRE train operations. They implemented a tiered dialogue mechanism between China and Kazakhstan's railways, promptly resolving transportation bottlenecks at border ports. Additionally, they coordinated transportation resources, such as train operations, freight, loading and unloading services, to streamline port logistics. The railway sector also deepened cooperation with customs, border inspection and local government agencies, advancing projects like the "Digital Port" and "Paperless Customs Clearance" systems and promoting fast-track railway services to enhance customs clearance efficiency.
To support more "Made in China" products reaching global markets, the Xinjiang Railway authority has expanded the schedule of full-route CRE trains and actively launched container trains from Xinjiang to Italy via the Caspian and Black Sea. This year, 18 southbound CRE trains traversing the "Two Seas" corridor have been launched. Currently, Alataw Pass operates 120 train routes reaching 21 countries and regions abroad, while Horgos Port runs 85 train routes, covering 46 cities and regions in 18 countries.
